The BellRays

Pioneering the sound best summed up as "maximum Rock 'n Soul", The Bellrays have been honing their craft over the course of several years and several releases. Already rock icons in Europe, the time has come for their unique sound to tear the roof off of the States.

Channeling equal parts fury and fragility, The Bellrays have lived and breathed their music since their inception in 1990, packing more emotion into one tune than most bands can throughout the course of several albums. "Most people think that a record is the complete culmination of all that goes into a band", explains Kekaula. "When you use your voice, guitar, bass, or drums to express feelings where words do not exist, you are your own Superman and Kryptonite. In all that The Bellrays do there is life, blood, emotion and dedication. We know no other way. For every second of music on this recording there was at least a day that led us both individually and as a group to this point, by either practice, songwriting, fighting, accounting, gigging, sleeping in the van, death, etc. We have dedicated our lives to the art of rock and roll."

Tracy Bonham

A native of Eugene, OR, Bonham began singing at age five, playing the violin at nine and piano at age 14. After earning a violin scholarship at University of Southern California, she transferred to Berklee College of Music to study voice and began writing and recording her own material. On her 1996 debut The Burdens of Being Upright, Bonham established herself as a brash rocker with ironic nods to the emerging music of punk grrrrl bands. With blunt, direct observations on love and loss, the album went gold and earned the singer Grammy nominations for Best Alternative Music Performance and Best Female Vocalist.

Lisa Kekaula

"In addition to being the lead singer of The BellRays, Lisa Kekaula has become the de facto face of The Basement Jaxx, who won the 2005 Grammy for Best Electronic/Dance Album Their recent greatest hits package “The Singles” (featuring Lisa on the songs, “Good Luck” and “U Don’t Know Me”) has been certified multi-platinum in the UK.

One of the hardest working women in rock, when she
’s not appearing with The BellRays or Basement Jaxx, she can be seen dazzling audiences with the reformed MC5.

London To Tokyo

London to Tokyo formed in mid 2008 in Los Angeles when Simon Steadman, frontman and songwriter from Elektra records’ Steadman, partnered with drummer Justin Butler from Sacramento rockers Tenfold. The music that grew out of this union kept the yearning pop melodicism of Steadman, but married it to crunching Queens of the Stone Age inspired riff rock with subtle undercurrents of electronica. Bassist Curtis Roach from Shooter Jenning’s Stargunn and lead guitarist Nicholas J Tyler from Scottish band Driveblind - signed to A&M/Geffen Records rounded out the ensemble providing the rumble and the sheen. Think Coldplay meets the Kings of Leon backstage at a Oasis show somewhere from London to Tokyo....

Radio Freq

Don't misread the name of this badass LA foursome. The “FREQ” is short for frequency and it damn sure reads as “freak.” Yet there's nothing freaky about Radio Freq, except perhaps for the band’s tireless quest to create the perfect party track. These boys don’t just want to DJ other people's music. They want to make music other people DJ. Their mission is simple: to fuse rock and electro in such a way as to retain the former's irrepressible danceability and the latter's vital live energy.
